In the moving Marathi drama Uttar, Renuka Shahane stars as Uma Bhalerao, a beloved Pune radio personality whose voice connects a city but fails to reach her own son. Her son, Ninad (Abhinay Berde), is an engineering student who hides behind the cold logic of Artificial Intelligence to avoid the complexities of human connection. When a college project forces the two into an unlikely collaboration on an AI experiment, the digital walls between them begin to fracture. Directed by Kshitij Patwardhan, the film beautifully explores whether the "answer" to our modern isolation lies in technological advancement or the timeless, healing power of a mother’s love.
